The Tarkine: Saving the last of Gondwana

The Tarkine is the planets second largest remaining temperate rainforest and a massive carbon synch. It is located in northwest Tasmainia, Australia's island state. For the last 50 years conservationist have been waging a battle aginst successive government to have it listed as a World Heritage area, protecting it from the destructive practices of mining and logging. Even in this era of climite change the Tasmanian government refuses give it a national park status.The struggle continues.
